My recent addition to Blood Angels Rogue Trader Squad Sephariel, 2nd Company. The second chaplain I have painted so far, the first one being 2nd edition. Some thought process went into getting tha chapter colors included, without using red for pieces of the armor. In the old Rogue Trader 40k Compendium, they had painted the miniature half black only. For me a chaplain needs to be black, though I decided to use the banner as connection to the chapter.
After cleansing, soap bathing and priming the miniature in AK black primer, I went for the three skull pieces and blocked them out with Valjeo white. Next came the sword and gun, which got painted GW mechanicum grey. Then I went into thr details, applying washes, base color black and went on with the highlights. I kept the banner for last, as I wanted it to make the connection to the Blood Angels chapter. I went for the typical Blood Angels banner style and colors and tried to add the company ‘2’ and the chapter icon as good as it got with the tiniest brush I could find, finishing the miniature by addressing the base with AP matt black.
