Every hero needs a villain. Soon as I started to collect and paint old Citadel Rogue Trader Space Marines it became clear to me – they need enemies to fight. Rogue Trader Traitor marines are already hard to come by, you need to purchase them from ebay, most times one by one. And they come with a price. Even more pricier are the chaos traitor marines.
So I was looking for a good company of evil warriors, that can be fought by my Blood Angel warriors. A YouTube video about the famous “Battle at the Farm” scenario from the first Rogue Trader rule book sported some orks, gangers and of course Space Marines. I will definitely source some gangers going forward, and maybe orks or Eldar, but for the first enemies I went for traitors!
Following Bequest for a while on Instagram, I decided to go for his traitor marine and traitor dwarf miniatures and make them the first enemies. And what cool miniatures they are! They get you the feeling of Rogue Trader vibes, and come in the presence of one of each chaos gods and an undivided.
Here is what I have painted first. The evil henchmen of Father Nurgle, what later became Deat Guard.
You maybe want to check out Bequest and Hagen-Miniatures for those lovely sculpts and give them a try!
